One of my favorite things about my work is the people. I met Jacqui through a friend, and over the past year and a half I have seen her blossom into an incredible mother and a badass entrepreneur. I photographed her daughter at the hospital minutes after she was born and we had several other shoots during her first year. Most recently Jacqui invited me into her home to capture the beautiful moments of her second pregnancy. She and her family are so thrilled to be welcoming another daughter into their family, and I truly feel lucky to have played a role in documenting the life of a woman who inspires so many around her.
In the image on the left I asked her to look down and take a moment, forget about me and my camera, and just think about how wonderful it is to be creating this new life, allow yourself to feel how beautiful this is, all of it. The image on the right is the result. I'd say those are definitely tears of joy.
