Mid November

With temperatures dipping below zero, this afternoon has been filled with cups of tea and books of poetry. In todays post I want to share some of the words that resonate with me, accompanied by a handful of self portraits from the week.

Stop glazing over it,
and coating it sugar sweet
so others will swallow it swift and forget it is there.
Bubbling beneath the surface,
be proud and let it burn
and rise in you
until it brands you
from the inside.
I see it,
let them.
I will never try to tame
the wild
in you.

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.
